Local authorities have cordoned off the crash site and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the mechanical failure. Representatives from the Bureau d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses (BEA), France's civil aviation safety investigation authority as well as officials of the Compagnies Républicaines de Sécuritéare (#CRS), are expected to arrive to lead the investigation.
